Challenging myself

My LJ is lacking in posts that do not have to deal with stress, work, depression, or other SRS BZNS. So, I'm going to try something I don't think I've ever done before.

1. Give me the name of a character you know I'm familiar with. I don't necessarily have to know their canon if you know I've roleplayed with them before.

2. Give me a number between 1 and 10.

3. Give me an emotion or a verb.

Do this and I will write you something based on that character. Nothing very long - in fact, the number you give me will determine how long it is. I also can't vouch for quality of characterization if I'm not familiar with the canon. But that's not the point.

The point is to give me a challenge. :3

Dr. Light slid his hand down his face, tiredly rubbing the bridge of his nose and the pouches beneath his eyes. When he looked at the computer screen again, though, nothing had changed. The results were there and undeniable, and no matter how hard he had tried to find another, faster way, this was the only option he knew would work.

Thirty years, he thought, his shoulders sagging with resignation.

Thirty years.

In thirty years his son would wake up without ever knowing his father.
