So. Christmas. I want to do something for my friends this year. Last year I think I offered gift fics, but I don't think I'm going to have the time/attention span to do that again this year. Especially not this late in the month. Instead, I'm going to pull out an old meme and offer it up again.

1. Give me the name of a character you know I'm familiar with. I don't necessarily have to know their canon if you know I've roleplayed with them before.

2. Give me a number between 3 and 15.

3. Give me an emotion or a verb.

Do this and I will write you something based on that character. Nothing very long - in fact, the number you give me will determine how long it is. I also can't vouch for quality of characterization if I'm not familiar with the canon. But that's not the point.

The point is Merry Christmas!

Well.
See.
back when I was into the Megaman fandom and participated a lot, I did a shirtless Protoman edit.
I was talking to Ash about it and said that I could do it again. Said I could even do it with Krew, if I wanted.
and, well, when you get the opportunity to scar all of fandom...

Okay, first, the story behind this. Over in [livejournal.com profile] capslock_jak, Otana made a post where she debunked a claim someone made about being able to fight Gol Acheron in Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. The person wasn't able/willing to offer any proof besides a (probably Photoshopped) screen cap of their mission progress.

I jokingly stepped in and claimed that it was true, you just needed "over 9,000 orbs." Then I offered my "proof": a "game script" of the alternate ending cut scene that would have presumably come before the final fight.

Sadly, to my knowledge, no such boss fight exists.

Summary: This is a collection of oneshot scenes based on A Matter of Time. Ideas I didn't follow through on, alternate ways a scene could have gone, things that just didn't fit with how I wanted the story to go, etc. None of these things ever happened - but they still might make a good story.

My LJ is lacking in posts that do not have to deal with stress, work, depression, or other SRS BZNS. So, I'm going to try something I don't think I've ever done before.

1. Give me the name of a character you know I'm familiar with. I don't necessarily have to know their canon if you know I've roleplayed with them before.

2. Give me a number between 1 and 10.

3. Give me an emotion or a verb.

Do this and I will write you something based on that character. Nothing very long - in fact, the number you give me will determine how long it is. I also can't vouch for quality of characterization if I'm not familiar with the canon. But that's not the point.

The point is to give me a challenge. :3

Title: The Underpants Dance
Fandom: Dragon Quest VIII
Rating: PG
Summary: The tap devil knew the Underpants Dance - and it wasn't afraid to use it.

The tap devil chortled gleefully as it swished its hips from side to side. Angelo's eyes widened in horror. He knew what was coming. He knew what it was about to do.

"Jessica, don't look!"

"What?" Jessica reflexively glanced at the creature. "Why no-" Her face paled. "Oh dear goddess!"

A horrified groan from Yangus alerted him to the fact that the burly ex-thief had also failed to avert his eyes. "Oy, now that's just wrong! Put your pants back on, ya crazy bugger!"

"Wheee!" The tap devil danced around pantslessly for another few minutes, waving everything for everyone to see. Then, while they were all still too mortified to act, it flashed a toothy grin at them before thrusting its hips a final time.

Goddess have mercy- Angelo slapped a palm to his face.

Suddenly, a hard crack cut the monster's snickering off. Angelo looked up in time to see the tap devil crumple to the ground, felled by a blow to the head from the leader of their party. The Templar blinked, then raised an eyebrow at his friend.

The hero shrugged back before responding wryly. "I guess I wasn't impressed."

Note: This is set in the universe of A Matter of Time, but it doesn't actually happen in the story. This is just something that could have happened if I'd chosen a different path. And yes, it completely screws with continuity. That's why it isn't the path I took. ;3

Scene Three

I've started another writing project. This one is a little... different from my norm. It's a fic that springboards off my roleplay, instead of just general canon. It's Phoenix from the Elegante.

But he's made it back to his world.

Because it's a roleplay fic, it'll really only make sense to people who follow the game. Because of this, I doubt I'll ever post it to my FFN account. I'll post updates here, though, in case anyone here is interested. I'll just warn you now that I won't be writing this like a proper fic. I'll be posting scene by scene, instead of by cumulative chapter. So. Don't expect a whole lot to read. :3;

That said, here's a link to the first scene (with a link at the bottom that will lead to the sceond.)

Once More, Dear Friends...

Rating: PG at the moment, but this could easily change to PG 13.
